About these terms
These terms apply to every booking with Becky's Braids, run by [Becky's full name] as a sole trader based in Surrey. By booking a braiding appointment, party, workshop or lesson, you're agreeing to them. If anything isn't clear, please get in touch before you book.
Bookings
- Workshop places and 1-2-1 lessons are confirmed when you receive a confirmation email.
- Party and occasion bookings are requests until I've confirmed the date, sent you a quote and [received your deposit].
- Please give me accurate details: the number of heads of hair, ages, hair length and any styles you'd like, so I can plan enough time.
Prices and payment
Prices depend on the style, hair length and number of people, and are confirmed in your quote or at checkout. [A deposit of X% / £X is needed to secure a party date. The balance is due on the day / X days before.] Workshop places are paid in full when you book. I accept [bank transfer, card, cash].
Cancellations and changes
- If you need to cancel or change your date, please let me know as soon as possible.
- [Cancellations with more than X days' notice: deposit refunded / moved to a new date. Less than X days: deposit kept.]
- [Workshop places can be transferred to someone else or another date with X days' notice.]
- If I have to cancel because of illness or an emergency, I'll offer you a new date or a full refund of anything you've paid.
Hair and scalp
Please arrive with clean, dry, brushed hair, free from oils and heavy products. For everyone's comfort, I can't braid hair with head lice or nits, or a scalp with broken skin, infection or a flare-up of a scalp condition. If I spot any of these on the day I'll let you know discreetly, and [the booking will be charged as a late cancellation / moved to a new date].
Children
I hold an enhanced DBS check. A parent or guardian must make the booking and give permission for their child's hair to be braided. [Children under X must have a parent or carer present.] At parties, the host is responsible for supervising the guests.
Glitter, added hair and allergies
I use [cosmetic-grade, biodegradable] glitter, synthetic added hair, thread and hair accessories. Please tell me about any allergies or sensitive skin before your appointment. If you're unsure, ask me which products I use. Glitter and accessories shouldn't be used on babies, and small items like hair rings aren't suitable for very young children.
Parties and travel
- I braid across Surrey, TW and KT postcodes and South West London. [Travel outside this area may have a travel charge.]
- Please have a table and chair ready, in good light and close to a power socket if possible.
- If the party runs late or more guests need braiding, I'll do my best to fit them in, but I can't always guarantee it.
Workshops and lessons
Everyone learns at their own pace, so I can't promise you'll leave braiding perfectly, but I'll give you the techniques and confidence to keep practising at home. [Please bring a willing head of hair / I'll provide a practice head.]
Photos
I love sharing my work, but I'll only photograph or share pictures of you or your child with your permission. Where I share photos of children, I focus on the braids rather than faces unless a parent has said that's fine. You can ask me to remove a photo at any time. See my privacy policy for more.
Results and liability
How long braids last depends on the hair type and what you get up to, so I can't guarantee how long a style will stay neat. Nothing in these terms limits my liability where that would be unlawful, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence. [I hold public liability insurance.]
Questions and complaints
If you're not happy with anything, please tell me within [48 hours] by emailing beckysbraidssurrey@gmail.com and I'll do my best to put it right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
