What I offer
Braiding Services
Braiding appointments, parties, or learn to Dutch braid. Prices depend on the style and hair — message me for a price list.

Hi, I'm Becky
I've loved braiding since I was 10, when a friend taught me to French plait her doll's hair. I practised on my Barbies, my mum, then myself and my friends, and along the way I found that braiding under instead of over made a raised, upside-down plait: the Dutch braid.
Becky's Braids started in 2022 on a camping trip, when the children (and the mums!) all wanted their hair done. Four years and hundreds of heads later, I still love it.
Whether it's a quick style for a busy school morning, braids for a big event, or the confidence to braid at home, I'd love to help.
Customer reviews
Becky came to my daughter's birthday party and plaited all the girls' hair with glitter. They absolutely loved it!
I've had messages from other parents saying their daughters were thrilled with their glitter braids too. Becky was the highlight of the party and we will definitely have her again.
I've been seeing Becky for my braids on a few occasions now, and every time she does an amazing job. My braids hold up really well and easily last for over a week, even through training, sweating and all kinds of weather. Becky is friendly, professional and always replies to messages promptly.
Becky is very patient and child friendly.
My daughter felt at ease and was so excited to see her long Rumi hair at the end. We had lots of compliments!
I went to a workshop having never braided before. Becky was great at teaching me, happy to help with any questions and showed me how to start it (a few times!). Now I can braid and work on my technique.
My girls are so happy I'm finally able to braid their hair.
At short notice we were so grateful that Becky could fit us in. My daughter has very wild, curly hair and Becky tamed it into two beautiful braids, quickly and without fuss.
You absolutely nailed it!
We had a loose plan and you freestyled like a pro. The braids stayed completely in place and looked just as good on day 4 of a very busy Love Trails Festival.

More on the booking pageI'm based in Surrey and braid across the TW and KT postcodes and into South West London, including Richmond and Weybridge. For parties and group bookings I come to you, whether that's your home, the garden, a village hall or a sports club. If you're a little further afield, drop me an email with your postcode and the date, and I'll let you know if I can make it work.
Dutch braids and cornrows are made to last. Lots of my clients keep them in for a week or more, even through training, swimming and all kinds of weather. One festival-goer told me his braids looked just as good on day 4 of a busy festival. Sleeping in a silk scarf or bonnet and keeping hands out of them helps them stay neat for longer. Party styles with glitter are usually a day or two of sparkle.
Anyone who wants great braids! Most of my clients are primary school girls getting ready for a party, a school residential or a sports day, but I also braid teens, mums, dads and grown-ups heading to festivals, holidays, Tough Mudder or Hyrox. Wild, curly hair is welcome too: I've tamed plenty of it into two neat braids. [Becky to confirm the youngest age she braids.]
Every booking is a little different, so the price depends on the style, the length and thickness of the hair, any added hair or glitter, and how many heads I'm braiding. Email me with what you'd like and I'll send my price list straight back. For parties and group bookings I'll put together a quote that includes everything, so there are no surprises.
It works just like booking a face painter. You choose one of two options. With Glitter braids, I braid every guest and finish with glitter in your party colours, so everyone goes home feeling special. With Plaits & practise, I teach the guests (perfect for tweens) to braid each other, so it's an activity and a hairstyle in one. I bring everything I need. Just tell me the date, how many guests are coming and their ages, and I'll come back to you with availability and a quote.
Yes, and you don't need any experience. Lots of my learners have never braided before, including mums and dads who've always wished they could do their children's hair. You can book a 1-2-1 lesson at your own pace, join one of my small group workshops, or gather some friends and host your own private workshop. I'll show you how to start (as many times as you need!) and stay with you until the Dutch braid clicks.
Yes. I hold an enhanced DBS check, so I can work with children, and I'm a qualified teacher, so I'm used to keeping little ones calm, happy and still for long enough to get the braids done. Parents often tell me how relaxed their children felt in my chair. You're always welcome to stay close by while I braid.
